Brian's Brain Dump
My head hurts. Alot. I want it all to go away. Work has flooded my brain & over-taxed my mental faculties, shoved ten pounds of shit in a five pound bag. Way too much to do & not enough time in which to do it. Status quo I guess. Need to find the flush valve or mental "eject" button & get rid of it all. Can I CTRL + ALT + DEL my head? Not enough hours in the work day nor enough hours in the calendar day. Work, workout, give the dogs the attention they deserve, find some time for myself. Oh yeah can't forget sleep. And have a relationship too? Yeah right, how to fit all that into a regular 24 hour day? That's beyond me. Maybe like Michael Keaton in Multiplicity or the dude in the Sprint commercials I could just create a few more Brians. My house would be more crowded, and the world would frickin' hate me (or us) even more, but WTF? If I could, I would. I'm considering starting grad school this year - like summer or fall term? I wanna do the grad school thing but how to fit it in. Two years of adding to more than I feel I can reasonably handle right now? Something's gotta give...if I could just win the lottery...ha ha ha...and end world hunger, resolve poverty, cure cancer or AIDS, reform the dumbfuck government. All bigger problems & more noble pursuits than mine. I'd love to learn to play guitar too, maybe write music. Yeah like that's gonna happen. Me thinks it time to let this shit go. One of the hardest things for me to do is focus on one thing at a time & not try to tackle everything at once, thereby avoiding the feeling of being overwhelmed, swamped, drowning. Try to live in the moment & enjoy what's here, now. Or drink...alot. Don't worry about yesterday or the week before or two months before, or more than week down the line. Otherwise you end up ruining the time you have here on Earth, the Right Now. Note to self: tomorrow's Friday Eve, and it's supposed to be in the mid 70's & sunny this weekend, so I got that goin' for me...which is nice. And the Super Bowl is Sunday. Out of nothing but middling disdain for the Giants, go Patriots! BTW, w/the popularity of the NFL in the US when are they gonna make the day after the Super Bowl a quasi-holiday so the still-drunk hungoverites can stay home & nurse themselves back to life? Another item for the reform of dumbfuck government. If we can have Arbor Day why can't we have Day-After-Super-Sunday?
Random Thoughts on Music
Justin Timberlake is actually a really talented dude. I'm no fanboy, and if a song of his comes on the radio more often than not (well almost all the time actually) I'll look for something else to listen to. But I caught part of his MSG (Madison Square Garden) show on HBO the other night, and the dude sings, dances, plays guitar, keyboards, WTF...you may not like his music but give the boy credit for having genuine talent. Almost any live music kicks ass. Hannah Montana or her alter ego Miley Cyrus and Ashlee Simpson notwithstanding...James Blunt, Michael Buble not my cup of tea either (don't know WTH I thought of those two). Saw a Foo Fighters concert on HDNet & enjoyed the hell out of it. IMO FF is better than Justin, but not one of the bands whose discography I'd take to a deserted isle. Middling better-than-average to me but nothing more. But the live show was really cool - they sounded good, and it was an enjoyable watch. I think I need to go some concerts & shows soon. Breaking Benjamin & Matchbox 20 are coming to the Bay area this spring, may have to put that on the agenda.
Well that's it. Be good. And if you can't be good, be really really bad. Remember, no matter what happens it's all good as long as you avoid two places: jail & the hospital. Peace
